The Board of directors comprise of Patil family (original Promoters) and representative of Lemken Group, Dr. Dietmar Franke.The Indian Agricultural sector was modernizing at a rapid phase since the 1990's, where modern higher H.P tractors were introduced into India by world renowned companies like John Deer, New Holland, Ford, Same, Renault etc.Unfortunately the Indian Agricultural Implement Manufacturing sector was still in its primitive stage, manufacturing implements with a design of the 60's. Our promoters saw this big technical gap to be filled for the supplying of modern agricultural implements suitable for new higher H.P. modern tractors. With this enthusiastic view , Deccan went into Joint Venture with a renowned German Company M/S. Lemken GmbH Co.KG, who were market leaders in the manufacturing of world famous Lemken Hydraulic / Mechanical Ploughs in India. They also manufacture cultivators, seed drills etc. They have set up a modern mould board pressing line up at their unit in Kolhapur. This line comprises of heating furnace, bending press, heat treatment and annealing facility.
The Parent Company, Annapurna Engineering Industry started manufacturing 'Rotary Tillers' from the year 1989-90. At this time, Rotary Tillers were just being introduced to the Indian Market. After the product was successful in the market, it was decided to float a new firm in the name of Annapurna Farm Implements (Partnership Concern) in the year 1993. The same Company was then converted to a Private Limited firm in the name of Deccan Farm Equipment Pvt. Ltd.The original promoters hailed from a renowned family knowing the precise needs of the growing and modern Indian farmer.
Deccan Farm Equipment Pvt. Ltd., has been manufacturing 'Rotary Tillers' as their major Agricultural Products. Deccan Farm Equipment Pvt. Ltd. have also developed Cultivators, Single Furrow Plough. Conventional machines like Lathes, Radial Drilling Machines, Welding Machines, Milling Machines are used for production purpose. Heat treatment, gear cutting etc are done from subcontractors. Today Deccan Farm has a market share of 20% in the Rotary Tiller Market of about 2000 units in India, which is catered by 7 manufacturers in India..As a leading manufacturer of soil preparation and seed drilling operational with the latest technology, Deccan Farm Equipment Private Limited is well known today all over India
The Company's products have received successful Test Reports from Southern Region Farm Machinery Training and Testing Institute, Anantpur(AP); under control of Ministry of Agriculture, Govt. of India and Vasantdada Sugar Institute, Pune.Apart from this, during the last 11 years of business experience in this field,the Company's Rotary Tiller/Rotavator owned popularity in the state of Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Karnataka mainly in the crop of Sugarcane, Tobacco, Banana, Mango Orchard, Paddy.
It has also been approved to be distributed under various state/central Government Subsidy Schemes in above states.
Today the company is in its modern and well equiped status. It is located in the M.I.D.C area of Shiroli, just 7 km away from the historical and industrial city of Kolhapur in the stae of Maharashtra.
